Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is key to HYTORC success. This key role within our company builds strong relationships with suppliers; plans, executes and finalizes purchasing strategies for direct and indirect product categories; works closely with key stakeholders to optimize buying opportunities for daily purchases. The Vendor Relationship Supervisor/Manager supports the activities of buyers and workers purchasing materials and services.

The main functions of our Strategic Sourcing Manager are to create value and supply sustainability. As a business we must source our vital materials and services carefully, to preserve company revenues responsibly.

Tasks

  • Work with HYTORC Purchasing Director to align regional goals with global Strategic Sourcing objectives;
  • Focus on constant improvements to your department’s processes and work flow;
  • Work with Director to lead department employees within the department to achieve individual goals;
  • Manage the vendor evaluation process, with an effective vendor evaluation schedule and disciplined follow up of vendor status criteria;
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with all vendors, and set guidelines so that the purchasing team has a clear understanding of purchasing parameters and processes as negotiated;
  • Constant generation of ideas to improve inventory turns on purchased materials with a focus on standardized components;
  • Develop yearly business plan with Purchasing Director based on operational guidelines and HYTORC Purchasing goals and review on an ongoing basis;
  • Reduce inventory while satisfying customers requirements through accurate inventory/usage data analysis and effective vendor stock solutions;
  • Assess min/max levels for inventoried products;
  • Work in a safe manner by adhering to all company health and safety policies and legislated regulations;
  • Work with companies in the HYTORC group to utilize existing vendor knowledge and supply strategy;
  • Develop strategies to clear EOL (end-of-life) product lines.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management Required, Masters Degree a Plus
  • Min. Seven Years of Purchasing Experience, Prior Purchasing Management Experience a Plus
  • MS Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint

Desired Attributes

  • Purchasing or Supply Chain Certification (APICS, CPSM, CIPS, etc.)
  • Negotiation Training or Certification
